Photo blank || Visual Memories pack || Concept development boards

The tiger print brief was a quick turn around task,  I used the brief as a basis to develop the photo blank concept further , I had take a collection of photographs whilst traveling and wanted to display them in a visually and interactive way. The aim was to extend the product range from not just a greetings card, but to a collection of products which all tie together. Below are some boards which display the change in design development and final outcome.

Tiger print || Photo blank || Research boards

I decided to look at some of the Tiger print competition briefs to look for a brief I could complete in one day. I came across the 'Blank Photo' task, the purpose of the brief to take a photo of a place, a moment, a hobby or even a scene which conveyed an emotion message which could be used on a blank greetings card.

Below is a design plan and greeting card mock ups which I made to give me a rough idea of the style of card I want to produce along with image and card size.

Pink Ink || Phase 7

Below is an example of how the hue scans have been experimented with in the editing process,  I have altered the hue of colour and distorted the shape and form of the image, it now displays themes of psychedelic patterns in the form of blurred crystals, this is an editing mode I aim to take further by using themes of reflective imagery and the alignment of shapes.

Pink Ink || Primary research || Hue scans

These are scans of some of the primary research papers I collected, each of these have hues of colours and were originally coated with a reflective mirror cover, when shifted at different angles they display a rainbow like effect. I think these would be great to use for the digital editing process in order to develop a wide range of designs which focus on a spectrum of colour.

Pink Ink || Phase 6

In this phase I have chose to focus more on digitally enhancing the photographs I have taken over the past few weeks. The aim is to experiment and develop a range of patterns using Adobe Photoshop with the hope of creating liquified and abstract digital paintings inspired by the traditional printing techniques such as marbling.

Liquified hue - Blurred pattern designs

Circular cell - Digital pattern formation

Inverted circular cell - Contrasting hue

Oil spill inverts - Iridescent patterns

Circular neon and metallic - Obscure alignment
