Pink Ink || Project product plan

The project Pink Ink was a proposal aiming to experiment and explore the colour pink and the patterns that could be created from inks, paints and other materials to generate off chance patterns for product application. The brief itself was written pretty vague leaving enough room in the experimenting phase to be as loose as possible.

From this point my plan is to split the project up into categories depending on the mediums of work I have produced thus far.

PRODUCT || RANGE || DISTRIBUTION

1. Paper print patterns

Paper marbling prints

For this part of the brief I developed a range of paper prints based on the japanese marbling technique, the outcome was a mixture iridescent pattern designs.

The distributing element of these prints are to be based on the printing methods in which they are displayed, for example the marbling effect works well on paper and could be displayed on a series of  paper product i.e posters, post cards, cards, gift tags, gift wrap and note books, these designs may also be suited to a interior range such as wallpapers and silk cushions.
The effective way of making these product available would be to set up an etsy website with the aim of displaying these products for purchase.

2. Digital image manipulation

The images created digitally has an origin of photography, which was then digitally enhanced and manipulated to mimic an abstract pattern formation inspired by nature.

The distributing factor of the digital imagery series is that they would work perfect on a digital platform, they could be accessed via a website and/or a smartphone app with the intention of being used as backgrounds on digital devices - smartphones, ipads, tablets and laptops.

3. Digital pattern designs

These patterns are created photographic work, edited and manipulated digitally to create reflective and kaleidoscopic motifs.

These designs would be perfect for a textile range for home and living, mainly textile products such as cushion covers, throws, blankets and perhaps rugs.
